About ShareBuddy Built for Nigeria. Powered by trust.
Finding a place to live in Nigeria shouldn’t feel like a hustle. Yet for most people, house hunting is full of problems, endless agent fees, fake listings, overpriced spaces, and stress at every turn. At ShareBuddy, we believe there’s a better way.
We created ShareBuddy to give people more control, more options, and more peace of mind when it comes to renting. Whether you’re a student looking for a shared apartment in Lagos, a young professional in Abuja needing a short-term room, or a host with extra space to earn from, ShareBuddy is here to help you connect directly, no middlemen, no games.
Our Story
ShareBuddy started with a simple question: Why is it so hard to find decent, affordable places to live—especially for young people? From that frustration came the idea of building a digital solution that puts people first.
We launched with one mission: to create a platform where anyone can list or find spaces easily, safely, and with full transparency. What started with shared apartment rentals is now growing into something much bigger, a full ecosystem for shared living, shared transport, and shared experiences across Nigeria.
What We Do
At the core of ShareBuddy is community. We’re not just a tech company, we’re building a trusted network where people help each other live better. Our platform connects ShareHosts—people with space to spare—with Buddies—people looking for a place to stay.
Hosts can list a room, BQ, or apartment in minutes. Buddies can browse, filter, and connect directly with hosts who match their needs. We make the process simple, transparent, and fair for both sides. And most importantly, we prioritize trust and safety, through verified users, support channels, and community feedback.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to make housing more accessible, affordable, and flexible across Nigeria.
Our vision is bigger than just rentals. We’re building the future of sharing in Africa, starting with homes, and expanding into ride-sharing, experiences, and more. The goal is simple: empower people to share what they have, connect with others, and live better, together.
Our Approach
We take a people-first approach to technology. That means listening to our users, improving based on real feedback, and building tools that actually solve problems on the ground.
We know Nigeria has unique challenges, from trust issues to payment barriers, and we design with those in mind. Every part of ShareBuddy is built to work here, not copied from somewhere else.
Who We Serve
ShareBuddy is for everyone, from students and NYSC members to landlords, families, and working professionals. Whether you’re renting out a single room or looking for a place for three months, ShareBuddy gives you tools to do it your way—securely and confidently.
We’re active in cities like Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt, with more locations coming soon.
The Team Behind the Platform
ShareBuddy is proudly founded and led by Nigerians who understand the housing struggle firsthand. We’re a small but dedicated team with backgrounds in tech, real estate, and community development, working together to build a platform that reflects the way Nigerians actually live.
We’re not here to replace people, we’re here to connect them better.
From Our Founder
“This is more than a platform, it’s a solution to a real problem. ShareBuddy is about helping Nigerians rent with peace of mind, earn from what they have, and build trust through community.”
– Tarah, CEO & Founder
